Alex’s passion for the industry began early. He worked in builders’ merchants when he was younger, gaining hands-on knowledge of materials, customer needs and the day-to-day workings of the trade. He later worked at Rackhams DIY in Harleston — a shop he would eventually purchase. After taking it on, Alex transformed the store into what is now Ugobuild DIY, modernising the range while keeping the approachable, community-focused service that local customers valued.

With a strong practical background and a clear vision for growth, Alex has shaped Ugobuild around reliability, customer service and genuine local engagement. His commitment to supporting tradespeople and empowering homeowners drives the business, ensuring that each branch offers quality products, helpful advice and a friendly welcome.
